On July 7th, the Party secretary and director of Hunan Environmental Protection Department, Yaochen Liu, accompanied by the managers of the Department Office, the Personnel Training Office, the Pollution Prevention Office, the Nature and Ecological Protection Office and the Provincial Environmental Supervisory Bureau, visited Chenzhou for a site survey on environmental protection work.

The team led by Yaochen Liu successively visited Xingning Sewage Treatment Plant, Dongjiang Lake Road, etc. to investigate the situation of the environmental protection in Chenzhou City. Then they attended the presentation about the development of ecological culture and environmental protection work in Chenzhou.

Yaochen Liu affirmed the city’s achievement inenvironmental protection for the past few years. He suggested that Chenzhou municipal party committee and government have paid significant attention to environmental protection, practically with publication of environmental quality information, monitoring, evaluation and identification of responsibilities. The environment, the air and water quality are in good condition, with clear plan of protective measures for key basins and areas.

Yaochen Liu emphasized that environmental protection departments in different levels should realize the opportunity for construction of ecological culture and environmental protection and further strengthen the confidence and sense of responsibility; they should always keep compliance with party committee and government in corresponding level, facilitate the development of ecological culture and environmental protection, enhance the responsibility of local government, improve the unity and coordination of relevant enforcement activities, set up in an open perspective the structure of environmental protection actions; the environmental protection departments should make efforts to manage their responsibilities, promote environmental supervision and monitoring, strengthen the construction of the ideology and skills of the leader team to improve their professional level.

The municipal party secretary—Pengfei Yi, the municipal vice party secretary and mayor—Hai Qu, the municipal standing committee member and vice-major—Aiguo Zhang, Chenzhou Environmental Protection Bureau as well as other leaders of Zixing municipal government also participated in the survey.
